Super Exciting Weekend

January 4th, 2009 · 1 Comment

I wish I could write more but I can’t right now.  Other than this was a life changing super exciting weekend.  I promise to write more about it when I can.  Just know you will be happy for me !  and it doesn’t involve babies.  LOL

Other than the super exciting part it was a relaxing weekend.  I watched my daughter’s basketball, made great linguine and clam sauce, and my kids went skiing all day Friday and Sunday so the house was quiet.

We had a game night for New Year’s eve.  It was a blast!  It was just the four of us playing games and drinking wine (cider for the kids).

If only every weekend was like this.

Saturday Movies

December 28th, 2008 · No comments

Yesterday, the kids and I went to the movies. Actually, 8 of us went to the movies.  It was a great thing to do with my friend, her kids, my niece and my two.  We went and watched Adam Sandler’s Bedtime Stories.   We thought Bedtime Stories was the perfect Christmas holiday movie.  It wasn’t a knee slapper but definitely a cute movie worth seeing.

Lazy Day

December 28th, 2008 · No comments

It’s 9:30 am on Sunday.  I’ve been sitting here all snuggly, drinking my coffee and posting to the blog while watching House M.D.  I love days like this.  I do know I want to get to the gym.  I’ve been a bad girl were that is concerned.  A real slacker.  However, now that the holidays are over…. I’m ready to get back on track.   My frozen meals for lunch and supper are calling me and I’m fully charged up to start up again on weight loss.  Once this show is over.  LOL

The same commercials are on all morning. I wonder if they started as a home based business.   Mighty Mend it and video professor. Who orders this stuff??

Christmas Morning

Miranda Xmas Morning

When you are 13 going on 18 you don’t need to find out what Santa left you at 5:30 am.  Look at that look.  So unexcited.

Jonathan Christmas morning

When you are 9 you do.   Jonathan was so excited he woke us up at 5am to see what Santa left.  We convinced him to let us sleep for another half hour.  He climbed into bed with me and I think keep his eye on the clock.  Because at 5:30 exactly he announced the half hour was up.  Miranda was not to happy when he went back into her room to announce it was time.

I did not leave life insurance rates under the tree. I have been thinking about it  recently. I want my kids to always be taken care of.

Winning Lottery Ticket

December 28th, 2008 · No comments

We play a great game of grab bag as a family every Christmas eve.  We have been for at least 20 years if not longer.  It turned from being serious to being a big joke several years ago.  It’s always great fun and everyone loves it.  In this picture my son thinks he won $5,000 on his scratch ticket from the grab bag.  The look on his face and the face of my cousins verifying it is priceless.

Think of what he could of done with $5,000.  He was very upset when he learned it was a trick but he was a good sport.  He was able to laugh about it after he jumped on me and told me I stunk.  (I guess my laughing gave it away I was the one who put the fake lotto tickets in the bag).

Shoveling

December 21st, 2008 · 1 Comment

jon and mari

My son and my niece shoveled during our snow storm Friday.  I took this picture early in the day.  Later they went out and asked a few neighbors if they needed help shoveling.  The kids requested $2 for their services.  They ended up doing two driveways and ended up with $20 a piece in their pockets.  Good deal especially when you are nine.
